Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence in the workplace

Having high Emotional Intelligence (EI)doesn’t mean you control emotions and keep them on a tight leash. It is the awareness of making those emotions appropriate to the situation, making sure the emotional response is no bigger than a situation deems necessary.

People with high EI also have the ability to be aware of the emotional responses in other people and how they can manage their input into any situation.

And this is why Emotional Intelligence training is an important part of employee development.

Did you know that only around 20% of a response is due to the current situation? The other 80% is based on our beliefs and responses we’ve learned! No wonder Emotional Hijacking - where emotions take over logical thinking - is so common.

After the course you will:

  • Understand where your emotional responses come from

  • Effectively assess your emotions before making important decisions

  • Manage emotional responses based on current situation.

  • Understand others and their reactions better

  • Adapt your communication to minimise triggering other peoples emotional responses

  • Enjoy calmer environment
